Our scoring isn't random. Every check maps to a specific provision of India's DPDP Act 2023 and Rules 2025, and the final math is a fixed, open formula. We don't make things up—we follow the rules set by India's government and established privacy research.

AI reads the policy and rates each of the 6 categories from 1 to 10 against the DPDP criteria. Our server then combines them with the fixed weights above — score = Σ(category × weight) — and derives the letter grade (A+ to F) and risk level by fixed thresholds. That final math is deterministic, so the same category scores always give the same grade. Higher score = better privacy protection for YOU.

We update the framework as the law evolves — it already reflects the DPDP Rules 2025 notified on 13 November 2025 and their staggered enforcement timeline.
Our entire methodology and code are open source. Anyone can inspect exactly how a score is calculated, cite the DPDP provision behind each check, and challenge it publicly.
